About

Kilalu Jewellery was founded by London-based jewellery designer & maker Kumiko Niimura in 2017.

Inspired by the captivating beauty of nature, each creation embraces the philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection. This collection of unique handmade jewellery celebrates the allure of organic forms that create beauty in nature.

The name Kilalu (in Japanese キラル), is inspired by a concept from organic chemistry describing a molecule that can never be symmetrical with its mirror image. This symbolises the beauty found in asymmetry and uniqueness, celebrating the idea that imperfections and variations add depth and character to a piece, creating a sense of individuality and charm. Kilalu aspires to bring Kilameku (煌く), meaning to shine, into every piece and into the hearts of their wearers.

Kilalu Jewellery is handmade with a dedication to responsible and sustainable craftsmanship using 100% recycled silver and gold, and responsibly sourced gemstones.

Modern and traditional craft

From our studio in Hatton Garden, London, Kumiko crafts using a combination of traditional and modern techniques from etching and soldering by hand to the traditional lost wax casting process.
